On September 18, #PaperSpecsLIVE returned to San Francisco and delivered what it always does. A hands-on reminder of what print can be at its best.

Justin Ahrens, Chief Creative Officer at Rule29 and O’Neil Printing, spoke about the Bourbon Book collaboration. A project that came to life as a fully realized brand box. Designed to be experienced, not just read.

The piece brought together the full O’Neil platform:
Rule29 led brand and experience design.
O’Neil Printing delivered precision production.
Printing Solutions engineered and led production.

The result was more than a book.
It was a connected brand experience built through print.

That was the larger idea behind the talk.
Print is not going away. It is evolving.

When strategy, design, and production are aligned from the start, print becomes something people keep, share, and remember.

O’Neil Printing was proud to sponsor the event alongside a lineup that included Jessica Hische, Craig Frazier, Kevin Shaw, and Sabine Lenz. The room was filled with designers, makers, and brand leaders who still believe in the power of craft.

The takeaway was simple.

Print still matters.
But only when it’s done with intention.
